Megan Borthwick believes it will be a ‘real battle’ when Durham Women head to Liverpool tomorrow.
The Wildcats will kick-off their 2020/21 season at Prenton Park against the title favourites – after a pre-season which yielded some positive results and performances.
“Every pre-season game has been a good test, but it’s let us mainly focus on ourselves,” reflected Borthwick.
“We’ve put in the hard work, put it onto the pitch and as long as we carry that onto the pitch it’ll be great.”
“No matter what, winning is what we want to do,” she continued.
“Even though pre-season doesn’t matter that much, winning is always good.
“For me, keeping the ball out of the net and keeping myself in form is a priority for me.”
Now focus shifts to the clash with Liverpool – which the Durham stopper feels will be a tough clash for both sides.
“It’ll be a real battle.
“They’ve got masses of quality, but then again so do we, so it’ll be a tough game.
“But as long as we give it our all, I’ll be happy with that.”
