Durham Women FC are delighted to confirm that striker Molly Sharpe will remain with the club for the 2020/21 season.
Sharpe, formerly of Bradford City, joined the Wildcats at the start of last season after a spell playing in Miami with Barry University.
The forward is one of the latest recipients of our scholarship programme, run in conjunction with Durham University, and enjoyed a successful first year in the North East on both a sporting and academic level.
Sharpe finished the 2019/20 campaign as Durham’s joint-top scorer, having netted ten times in all competitions, and is now targeting an equally successful second season in the FA Women’s Championship.
“I’m really happy to be playing for Durham again this year,” she said.
“I’m excited to get back to it and hopefully we can have a really successful season.”
Manager Lee Sanders added: “It’s fantastic to have Molly with us for another year.
“She’s come in and done well last season and added those additional goals we’ve needed in the past.
“She’s another example of the partnership and scholarship opportunity that we have with Durham University as she’s playing and completing her masters degree with us after being out in the States for the previous four years.
“I’m sure she’ll want to build on the progress she’s made and we’re delighted she’s with us for 20/21.”
Sharpe, and the rest of our first-team squad, are now available to sponsor for the 2020/21 season.
