Durham Women FC are delighted to confirm that forward Iris Achterhof will return to the club for the 2020/21 season.
A new addition ahead of the last FA Women’s Championship campaign, Acherthof quickly caught the eye with her committed and relentless displays.
The Ducth striker netted three times during her debut season in the North East and is eager to make her mark when the new season kicks-off in September.
“I’m really pleased to be returning to Durham for another season,” she said.
“I can’t wait to get back on the field and see all our amazing fans. Your support means a lot to all the players and our coaching staff and everyone involved with the club.”
Manager Lee Sanders added: “”I’m really pleased that Iris will be with us for another season.
“She’s really started to settle into the team after moving from Holland to the States and now in England – and she’s another player who has benefitted from our scholarship programme.
“They’re all big life changes and we’re really looking forward to a good second year from Iris.
“She’s blessed with a lot of technical ability, strength, speed and commitment. She also made the decision to stay in England and work hard when we went into lockdown and that just shows the determination she had to want to contribute to the team.
“I’m delighted she’ll be with us for another year.”
