Durham Women FC defender Kathryn Hill was honoured yesterday evening [Sunday, February 22] after being voted as the North East Football Writers’ Women’s Player of the Year.
Hill was presented with the trophy on a star-studded evening, as she brushed shoulders with stars such as Fabian Schar, Sean Longstaff and Martin Dubravka.
Speaking as she collected the award, Hill said: “It’s great to be recognised, especially for the club as well.
“It’s nice for a defender to be recognised for a change and it’s great to follow in the footsteps of some of the previous winners.”
Hill becomes the second Wildcat to win the award, after Beth Hepple was handed the trophy last season.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Kathryn on the fine achievement.
