Durham Women FC’s Academy side are into the semi-finals of the Barclays FAWSL Academy Cup – after beating Manchester City.
For the second successive season, the Wildcats have been invited to enter a team into the prestigious tournament, which sees some of the best young players in the country battle for success.
And Durham’s batch of promising youngsters have set the competition alight – firstly beating Manchester United after a dramatic two-legged affair.
That triumph set-up a quarter final clash with Manchester City, and Lily Crosthwaite’s strike saw Durham claim a 1-0 victory and a place in the semi-final.
