Durham Women welcome Aston Villa to New Ferens Park -as second welcomes first in the FA Women’s Championship.
With both teams battling for promotion this term, it’s set to be an entertaining meeting which could have a big bearing on the league table come the end of the season.
And ahead of the game, here’s everything you need to know – from tickets to travel and more:
After enjoying an impressive end to the 2018/19 season, Aston Villa have built upon those strong foundations.
And with some big investment having been provided over the summer months, Gemma Davies’ side look set to be serious title contenders this time around.
The likes of Emma Follis, Shania Hayles and top scorer Melissa Johnson have helped bolster an already talented squad – and Villa currently sit top of the second tier.
They remain unbeaten in the league this term – and are the heavy favourites to secure promotion to the FA Women’s Super League this term.
WE’VE MET BEFORE
Our previous league meeting this season ended in a 1-1 draw, with Nicki Gears’ strike cancelled-out by Nadine Hanssen.
Villa’s previous visit to the North East ended in a 3-0 win for Durham – thanks to a brace from Molly Sharpe and an Abby Holmes header.
Striker Eleanor Dale said: “We’ve got a hard week of training ahead of us and then a tough game against Villa coming up at the weekend.
“We’ve got to prepare well for that one, but we are confident that we can push on from this win and keep this good run going.”
The match will be played at New Ferens Park (DH1 1GG)
