Sarah Robson has praised Durham Women’s desire to graft in order to claim the three points at Blackburn Rovers.
The Northern Irish international revealed how a half-time pep talk spurred the side on to a much-improved second showing as they claimed the three points at Bamber Bridge.
Here’s what the midfielder had to say:
Robson on the Blackburn win…
“We knew coming into it, especially after they beat us earlier in the season, that it wasn’t going to be easy.
“In the first half, when we the goal disallowed and hit the post, we thought ‘here we go again’.
“But we grafted, picked up the tempo and got the result we fully deserved.”
Robson on what was said at half-time…
“At half-time, we knew we could pick up the tempo.
“We played slowly in the first half and didn’t create as much as we wanted to, but in the second half we were so much quicker and so much better on the ball.”
Robson on the travelling support…
“We really appreciate them.
“Throughout the whole game we could only hear them. We couldn’t hear anyone else – and hopefully more follow us as the season goes on.”
