Durham Women return to league action with a trip to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Women’s Championship.
The Wildcats will be looking to bounce back from defeat to Bristol City last weekend and keep their hopes of a top two finish alive.
But Blackburn Rovers will prove a stern test for Lee Sanders’ side having already beaten Durham once this term.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the fixture:
A regular force in the FA Women’s National League, Blackburn finally earned a deserved promotion to the second tier last season.
An Gemma Donnelly has a squad packed with quality and have put in some impressive performances of late.
At the back, Arsenal youngster Fran Stenson provides stability between the sticks while further up the field the quality of Natasha Flint is clear to see.
Saffron Jordan is a prolific striker and the additions of Ellie Fletcher and Missy Kearns add extra depth to Rovers’ squad – with their league position not telling the full story of their ability.
WE’VE MET BEFORE
We’ve met Blackburn just once in the league – with Rovers winning 1-0 at New Ferens Park,
However, we won 3-1 at Bamber Bridge in the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup.

“They’re a physical team, a good team and we’ve always had a real battle when we’ve come up against them.”
