Vision for Education – Our Valued Partners

Durham Women FC and Vision for Education have worked in tandem since 2014 – and they remain our valued partners.

As well as seeing their logo featured on the front of our shirts, the club and Vision for Education work together on a number of exciting projects – including tournaments for local schools, trips to Wembley and player visits into educational settings.

Commenting on the partnership, Paul Hillas – Vision for Education’s secondary Assistant Branch Manager in Newcastle – said: “Vision for Education are delighted to sponsor DWFC.

“Our partnership has went from strength to strength over the past 6 years and has provided partnership schools with a whole host of opportunities, including taking over 150 students to Wembley to watch the Women’s FA Cup final and allowing us to showcase the FA Cup trophy in a number of the schools that we work with.

“Our partnership has provided DWFC the opportunity to reach more young people to increase their interest in football and physical activity, through girls football competitions, matchday tickets and mascot experience days.

“As part of our partnership, we also have a number of the DWFC players who work for us as Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants and Administration Assistants.”

Lee Sanders, Durham Women FC manager, added: “Vision for Education have been supporters of the club since day one.

“As they’ve said since that point, they do it because it’s the right thing to do, and they believe it’s worth investing in female sport.

“It’s a partnership we’ve tried to work on and develop over the years and have developed some exciting initiatives – including sending busloads of children to Wembley for the FA Cup final and holding tournaments at our training ground several times over previous years.

“The FA are determined to have every school offering the option of girls’ football as something their pupils can do during the day, and partnerships like this are only going to become even more important as time goes on because it just fits and works.”
