INJURY UPDATE: The latest on our injured quintet

With our quintet of injured players all on the road to recovery, we caught up with club physiotherapist Nat Gutteridge to find out how they’re getting on.

Here’s what she had to say:

Hannah Reid

NG: “Hannah is recovering from a ligament injury to her finger that she picked up in training.

“She’s been having to wear a finger splint but we’re hopeful that she’ll return to full training within the next two weeks.”

Emily Roberts

NG: “Em is recovering well from her knee surgery.

“She has been working hard in the gym and is now back out on the pitch running which is great to see.

“We’ll closely monitor her response to the increased load with a view to integrating her back into training with the team over the next month.”

Lauren Briggs

NG: “Briggsy has been back to full training with the team for some time now following her ACL reconstruction and had responded really well.

“She’s completed a battery of tests and produced some good results so will look to get her some minutes on the pitch over the next few weeks.”

Rachel Lee

NG: “Shorty is being gradually exposed to full contact training with the first team following her ACL reconstruction and is also responding well to this.

“We plan to continue testing over the next couple of months to gauge her progress and then plan her return to play date.”

Sarah Wilson

NG: “Wills is continuing to work hard in the gym after suffering a recurrence of her 5th metatarsal injury.

“She’s been to see a specialist for an opinion and is currently waiting for further investigations.

“Once these have been carried out, a management plan can be put in place which will give us an idea of her estimated return to play date.”
