Danielle Cox is determined to kick-start her Durham Women career after making her debut for the Wildcats in the win over Lewes.
The former Doncaster Belles and Sheffield United centre back picked up an injury shortly after joining the club, but made her long-awaited first appearance in Sunday’s 3-0 win.
And now, Cox is keen to push on in the remaining months of the season.
Here’s what she had to say about her comeback, the win over Lewes and the visit to Liverpool:
Cox on the Lewes win…
“We made hard work of that one!
“I don’t think the weather conditions helped, but I’m happy to be back on the pitch.
“It’s been frustrating since I came in but I’m happy to finally be back out there.”
Cox on her targets moving forward…
“I want to get back in training, get working hard and get back to the level I was at before my injury.
“I just want to kick-on and get as many minutes behind me as I can after the Christmas break.”
Cox on a big week ahead…
“We’ve got a tough week with Liverpool and then Crystal Palace at the weekend.
“The win against Lewes stands us in good stead for them and hopefully we can put in the same performance.”
