Durham Women will take to the New Ferens Park turf for the final time in 2019 as they welcome Lewes this Sunday.
The clash looks set to be another stern test for the Wildcats, with Lewes possessing a squad packed with quality and attacking flair.
And ahead of the game, here’s everything you need to know – from tickets to travel and more:
Having entered the FA Women’s Championship in 2018, Lewes have undergone some significant transformation since their admission into the league.
Now under the guidance of Spaniard Fran Alonso, the Rooks have built a squad more than capable of pushing up the second tier.
Former Everton forward Jess King and New Zealand international Katie Rood provide some firepower up front, alongside former Wildcat Zoe Ness – who is expected to miss this weekend’s game through injury.
At the other end, the experienced Faye Baker can prove a tough opponent between the sticks.
WE’VE MET BEFORE
Lewes’ last visit to New Ferens Park ended in a 5-0 win for the Wildcats, win an Abi Cottam hat-trick proving decisive in a clinical performance.
In the return fixture at the Dripping Pan, Nicki Gears’ goal sealed a 1-0 win.
Skipper Sarah Wilson said: “We are expecting yet another tough challenge.
“Every team that we’re coming up against provides us with a different challenge.
Lewes have strengthened their squad, making it even more important that we focus on ourselves.
