Sarah Wilson believes that the scoreline didn’t reflect the game as Durham Women fell to a heavy defeat against Sheffield United.

The Wildcats rotated their squad for the cup clash with the Blades and were on the end of a 4-0 defeat, which Wilson felt was somewhat harsh.

She said: “Obviously Sheffield played well and scored some good goals, but it’s one of those where yes they had a lot of the ball – but so did we at times.

“It [the score] certainly didn’t reflect the game and that’s how cruel football can be.

“We know we have the qualities in the squad and the individuals – some of whom were rested tonight, which we have to take into account – and it’s important that we recover.

“We need to focus on the next task back in the league.”
