ROBSON: “They’re a new challenge for us”

Sarah Robson believes that London Bees will pose a ‘new challenge’ to Durham Women when they visit New Ferens Park.

And the midfielder – fresh from a spell captaining Northern Ireland over the international break – is hopeful that the first-ever Women’s Football Weekend will lead to a bumper crowd at New Ferens Park.

Robson on London Bees and Women’s Football Weekend…

“I think it might be great for somebody who has never watched women’s football. They might see it and think I’ll pop along to my local game.

“It’s more promotion for us because the FA are really pushing it and then hopefully from that we can get more fans at New Ferens Park. Once they come once, they want to come again.

“The thing with London Bees is that it’s never a game we take lightly. For the last few seasons it’s been a very close contest.

“Last year it took a Kathy Hill spectacular to get the three points.

“They’ve signed a lot of new players so they’re a new challenge for us and one we have to stand up to.”

Robson on what is needed to win…

“We just need to carry out the game plan.

“As long as the big players stand up and do their job, then individually on the pitch we can put in a good game and get the result.”
