Durham Women turn their attentions back to the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup this weekend – as Coventry United come to New Ferens Park.
The Wildcats sit top of their cup group at the moment and, having earned a point at in-form Aston Villa last weekend in the league, will be full of confidence.
But Lee Sanders’ side will come up against a Coventry side packed with quality and keen to make their mark.
And ahead of the game, here’s everything you need to know – from tickets to travel and more:
Promoted from the FA Women’s National League last season, Coventry United have excelled in the third tier and are now keen to make their mark at the elite level.
While the club itself are new to the league, a number of their players have vast experience of higher levels – including Chelsea Weston, Beth Merrick and Katy Morris.
New manager Stuart Wilson saw his tenure begin with a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Blackburn last weekend and, while the side are yet to win this term, their performances of late have been impressive.
WE’VE MET BEFORE
Actually, we haven’t. This will be the first time we have ever faced Coventry United.
Speaking ahead of the game, Nicki Gears said: “I think they’ll be a hard-working team and will be hard to break down.
“We need to put in our best performance, finish those chances and keep pushing on.”
The match will be played at New Ferens Park (DH1 1GG)
Kick-off is at midday on Sunday 3rd November, with the turnstiles open from 11am.
Tickets for the game are available at the following prices:
Adults – £6
Concessions (Under 16/Students/OAPs) – £3
