BIG MATCH PREVIEW: London City (A)

Durham Women are back on the road this weekend as they travel to London City Lionesses – and here’s everything you need to know ahead of the game.

With both teams having enjoyed strong starts to the FA Women’s Championship campaign, it’s sure to be a blockbuster clash in front of the TV cameras.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the fixture:

THE OPPOSITION

Formed in the summer, London City Lionesses quickly set about forming a full-time structure, while attracting a number of talented players to join their ranks.

Chris Phillips has built a squad capable of competing for promotion, with ex-Arsenal striker Freda Ayisi and prolific forward Liz Ejupi among the eye-catching summer recruits.

Charlotte Gurr recently joined the squad, and joins a strong former Charlton contingent which also sees Lily Agg and Harley Bennett pulling on the shirt.

The Lionesses have lost just once this term – to league leaders Aston Villa – and have secured some very strong results.
