Durham Women return to New Ferens Park this weekend – as they welcome Charlton Athletic in the FA Women’s Championship.
While the Wildcats have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, they will be posed a stern test by promotion hopefuls Charlton.
And ahead of the game, here’s everything you need to know – from tickets to travel and more:
Riteesh Mishra’s side finished third in the FA Women’s Championship last term – pipping the Wildcats to the spot on the final day of the season.
And the Addicks have strengthened over the summer months, despite losing star strikers Kit Graham and Liz Ejupi.
Mishra has brought in Reading duo Charlie Estcourt and Lily Woodham on loan, with ex-Chelsea youngster Jenna Legg and promotion-winning centre back Renee Hector rounding-off some eye-catching business.
Charlton’s only game of the campaign thus far ended in a 0-0 draw against Lewes – but they’ll be keen to pick up a first three points at New Ferens Park.
WE’VE MET BEFORE
Both our meetings last season ended in 2-2 draws, although the Wildcats did beat Charlton 3-1 during an FA Cup tie in 2015.
Nat Gutteridge (2) and Beth Hepple got the goals that afternoon.
Speaking ahead of the game, Ellie Christon said: “They’re a strong side.
“We know what they’re about and we’ve got some time to prepare for them.
“We’re hoping to continue our good form.”
The match will be played at New Ferens Park (DH1 1GG)
