SIX REASONS: Why YOU should watch Durham this weekend

Durham Women kick-off their home campaign this weekend – but why should you come and cheer on the side?

Here’s just SIX of the many reasons why you should give the Wildcats your support…

NEW FACES

Four new signings could make their competitive home debuts at New Ferens Park this weekend – after putting in exciting performances at Leicester last weekend.

Molly Sharpe and Megan Bell got off to a dream start – both netting on their debuts – while Iris Achterhof and Holly Manders impressed too.

And the quartet will be keen to put on a show in front of the home crowd this weekend, too.

ADDED INTRIGUE

An extra edge to this game comes in the form of Annabel Johnson – who returns to New Ferens Park with her new club, Crystal Palace.

The full-back was a popular member of the Durham squad for three campaigns, but can she get one over on her former club this weekend?

FINE FORM TO CONTINUE?

The Wildcats put FIVE past Leicester City last weekend, so can they continue their fine form against Crystal Palace?

It’s sure to be an intriguing, exciting and competitive game, with the Eagles having added some real quality over the summer.

THERE’S MORE THAN THE FOOTBALL

There’s more on offer than just watching the game this weekend – with young players able to take part in a pre-match Skills Session which is FREE with a match ticket.

It’s led by our first-team midfielder Lauren Briggs, and you can SIGN UP HERE for this unique opportunity.

A PERFECT WAY TO START THE DAY

Sunday promises to be a feast of football in the North East – with a number of both male and female games taking place in the afternoon.

And with Durham’s game kicking-off at 12pm, you can cheer on the Wildcats before hopping off to watch another game.

Could you ask for a more perfect start to the day?

CAN DURHAM TOP THE TABLE?

It’s early days, we know, but Durham are currently top of the FA Women’s Championship.

Whether they can stay there – with some intense competition within a talented division – remains to be seen.

One thing is for sure though, the Wildcats will need YOUR support to help them stay atop the second tier.
