SIGNING: Manders Joins The Wildcats

Durham Women FC are delighted to announce the signing of promising attacking midfielder Holly Manders.

The youngster, who spent last season with Middlesbrough in the FA Women’s National League, joins the Wildcats after a stellar summer – which has seen the teenager shine on the international stage.

A regular in the England U18 squad, Manders netted twice in three games for the Young Lionesses earlier this summer in friendlies against Croatia.

And she will now take the next step in her burgeoning career by joining Durham in the FA Women’s Championship – a move which is an exciting one for the youngster.

“It feels really good to be here,” she admitted.

“It’s really exciting and hopefully now it will be an enjoyable season.

“I think this season will be a real challenge for me, but I’m excited for that challenge and that’s why I want to be here.”

Manager Lee Sanders was equally pleased to see the youngster join the club.

.”I’m delighted to have Holly join us,” he said.

“She’s a young player and left-footed, which is a rarity and gives her an advantage.

“Technically, she is very talented and has been involved in the England national set-up – so we’re pleased to get a player of her calibre in.”

Manders will wear the number 12 shirt for the club this season, and is available for selection against Everton this afternoon.
