Kathryn Hill believes retaining the majority of last season’s squad will stand Durham Women in good stead for the new campaign – and that the side will be ‘ready to go’ if they can recapture last season’s form.
And the defender, who is set to enter her third campaign at New Ferens Park, believes a testing 2018/19 season will help the Wildcats in the Championship this term.
Here’s what she had to say ahead of the new campaign:
Hill on returning for pre-season…
“It’s good to be back.
“Obviously we had a bit of time off and it felt like ages since the last game [of last season], so everyone is back in and looking forward to the hard work.”
Hill on her third season at Durham…
“I’m looking forward to it.
“I’ve had two good seasons but I’ve not got what I wanted to do yet – which is promotion.
“Hopefully this is the year for that.”
Hill on learning from last season…
“All the experiences from last year will help us going into this season.
“We’ve just got to believe in ourselves and focus on one game at a time for the full season, and then see where we are.”
Hill on retaining the squad…
“We had a good squad last year, so keeping most of them will hopefully help.
“If everyone can be in the same form, or even better form, then we’ll be ready to go.”
