Durham Women FC can today confirm that our pre-season friendly with Sunderland has been cancelled.

The game was initially set to be played on Sunday, July 28.

However, due to a number of injuries, the fixture has had to be cancelled.

Every effort was made to ensure the fixture was played, but the club must place players’ welfare first and ensure nobody is rushed back into action.

We apologise to all supporters for any inconvenience caused and look forward to seeing our fans on August 11 when we face Everton.
