Kathryn Hill knows that Durham Women must remain vigilant to Sheffield United’s threats when the Blades visit New Ferens Park this Sunday (April 14).
After a mixed start to the season, Sheffield have begun to flourish in the second tier and have picked up some stunning results of late.
And Hill is keen to ensure that the Wildcats aren’t the next side to lose out to Carla Ward’s side – as they look to maintain a promotion push.
Here’s what the defender had to say ahead of the clash:
Hill on the threats posed by Sheffield…
“It’s always difficult against Sheffield.
“It’s obviously been a long time since we played them, they were the first game of the season.
“They had a few bad results, but they’ve hit a bit of form now after beating Spurs.
“It’s always a difficult game against them but it definitely will be after their recent results.
“They’ll be in high in confidence and be buzzing after getting a few winners in the last minute.
“We have to be aware of that and know they’ll be full of confidence, but hopefully we can do the right things and get a result.”
Hill on some big games coming up…
“It’s obviously four cup finals now.
“We’ve just got to not think about anything in the future, we just have to win every game.
“If we can do that then hopefully we’ll be in a good position come the end of the season.
“We’re always focusing on the Sunday coming up and it’s important we don’t put too much pressure on ourselves.
“Obviously we always really want to get the result, but we’re relaxed and enjoying training.”
Hill on Durham being written off in some quarters…
“I don’t think it has any effect on us. We don’t really care, to be honest.
“If we’re going under the radar, that’s fine.
“We’ve only lost one game so I think we’ve shown what kind of side we are.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter until the end of the season where are – that’s when it matters.”
