Sarah Wilson was brimming with pride after Durham Women went toe-to-toe with Chelsea.
The Wildcats’ skipper was delighted with the discipline shown by her side during the narrow defeat – with only a moment of magic from Ji So-Yun proving the difference between the pair.
And she has hailed the hard work of the entire Durham squad after a memorable afternoon at New Ferens Park.
“I’m honestly so proud of the girls and the commitment they’ve shown today,” she said.
“Coming off the back of a result last week, we had to be confident coming into the game.
“If you go into a game like this and roll over, anything can happen.
“But we were so disciplined today, both first and second half, and I’m so incredibly proud of all the girls.
“Discipline was the thing – they’re incredible players and the difference is absolutely phenomenal.
“But we worked hard, were confident in our own ability and knew someone was going to be behind us.
“The girls gave absolutely everything and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
“It was all about confidence coming into the game and making sure we didn’t roll over and let them play.”
