Durham Women FC midfielder Beth Hepple has scooped the FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month award for December 2018.
Hepple was an ever-present as the Wildcats went unbeaten through two tough tests in December.
The Wildcats beat promotion rivals Tottenham Hotspur 6-1 before going on to end Manchester United’s long unbeaten run with a comfortable 3-1 victory.
And the midfielder’s performances in the two victories have now been recognised after a combination of an expert panel and a public vote handed her the Player of the Month award.
Hepple saw off competition from Charlton duo Liz Ejupi and Lily Agg as well as former London Bees skipper Emma Beckett to scoop the award.
The attacking midfielder netted twice during the victory over Spurs and one during the Manchester United triumph as she played a key role in a successful her month.
Her award is the second the Wildcats have claimed this month, after the club’s management team were awarded the LMA Manager of the Month award for December.
