Durham Women midfielder Beth Hepple has scooped Radio South Tyneside’s Sports Personality of the Year award for 2018.
Hepple, who has been an ever-present for the Wildcats during the calendar year, was nominated alongside some illustrious names.
Ben Stokes, Mica McNeill and Glenn Durrant were also up for the award, but were left in the wake of Hepple as she stormed the public vote.
74% of voters named Hepple as their choice for the award, meaning that the midfielder has scooped the radio station’s coveted award.
The Wildcats were also nominated for the Team of the Year award, but were narrowly pipped to the prize
