Durham Women FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Hibernian midfielder Lisa Robertson.
The all-action midfielder joined Hibs in 2007 and has been a near ever-present in their side over the last decade, earning plenty of plaudits for her performances north of the border.
Spells at Glasgow City and Spokane Shine in the USA handed Robertson some additional experience, while she has also been handed Scotland senior call-ups after progressing through her nation’s youth ranks.
Now, the 26-year-old joins the Wildcats after a fine campaign which saw her play a pivotal role in the Hibbees’ Scottish Cup triumph as well as their second-place finish in the SWPL.
Comfortable in possession and tough in the tackle, Robertson will add some extra depth and competition to Durham’s midfield as they look to build on an unbeaten start to the FA Women’s Championship campaign.
And manager Lee Sanders was delighted to seal her signature, saying: “I think Lisa will prove to be an excellent signing for the club.
“We’ve spent some time watching her in games for Hibs and what stands out is her energy, competitiveness and that knack to always be available off the ball and to really keep it simple when she’s on the ball.
“I’m really excited about her becoming part of the squad and I think she brings something different and really positive for the remaining fixtures this season.”
Robertson too was pleased to make the move, adding: “It feels good to be here and I’m really excited to get going.
“It’s very exciting to come down and play in England. Obviously coming and playing against different teams and different players will be a new challenge which is exciting for me.
“I’m a holding midfielder and I like get on the ball, move it and get it forward. I also like to tackle, so that’s what you’ve got to look forward to!”
“I expect it to be really competitive, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
The midfielder has gained international clearance and so will be available for selection for Durham’s trip to Millwall on Sunday.
