Back The Blues: Don’t miss out on Durham Women’s big season opener

Durham Women kick-off our 2024/25 season on Sunday, September 8 (12pm kick-off) against Sheffield United – and we’ve got a big day planned!

It’s been a busy summer for the Blues who have signed three new players – former Champions League player Abbi Grant, prolific striker Carly Johns and New Zealand international Hannah Blake. A number of familiar faces have also extended their stays in Durham and the squad have already enjoyed some fantastic pre-season games.

A 5-2 win over Liverpool Feds in Cumbria was followed by strong tests against Women’s Super League sides Manchester United and Leicester City. But full focus now turns to the clash with Sheffield United on September 8.

The opening game against the Blades at Maiden Castle comes as the exciting new Barclays Women’s Championship season begins, at what is the dawn of a new era for the women’s professional game in England. And to mark the start of this fresh chapter, Durham Women have a number of activities planned as we look to make a strong start to the new campaign.

Here’s what we’ve got planned for the fixture with Sheffield United:

Over 1,000 fans attended Durham’s final fixture of last season, and another bumper crowd is expected for this clash with hundreds of tickets already snapped-up. Supporters are therefore strongly advised to book tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment.

Supporters can purchase their tickets now via our easy-to-use online ticketing platform. Prices are as follows:
