It’s been a fantastic few weeks for the Durham Women FC pathway – with three of our sides progressing in cup competitions!
Here’s a recap of the successes of recent weeks…
Under 14s
Our Under 14s side are into the knockout stages of the Champions Cup!
The young Blues drew 1-1 with Manchester City in their final group stage fixture to secure progression to the next stage of the competition – while becoming the only team to take points from the Citizens.
We’re wishing everyone involved all the best of the next stages of the competition!
Under 16s
Our PGA Under 16s are into their second national final in just three years – having reached the final of the PGA Cup!
A 3-0 win over Southampton in the semi-finals – courtesy of goals from Eden Varah, Grace Swales and Izzy Kilpatrick – secured progression.
Durham will face Arsenal in the final on Sunday 22nd March.
Under 21s
A 3-2 win over Chelsea has seen our PGA Under 21 team reach the last four of the PGA Plate competition.
Goals from Lola Stokes and Eloise Morran saw Durham take the WSL side to extra-time, before Emily Sirs netted the winner in the additional 30 minutes.
Durham play Newcastle United next week for a spot in the final.
Keep your eyes on our website and social media in the coming weeks for more on all three of these teams and their cup exploits!
