We caught up with Tyler Toland to preview Sunday’s game against Southampton in the Barclays Women’s Super League 2
Toland on Newcastle…
“I think it’s really important that we got an extra point on the board and can start climbing the table.
“Morale is good in the squad and we’ve got a lot of confidence going into the weekend and we need to keep building up points and getting more on the table.
“I loved it, everyone loves a derby.
“It was a feisty game and I think that showed. It was competitive the whole way through and your typical derby game.”
Toland on our equaliser…
“In a derby game, any goal is massive.
“Going 1-0 down, it showed massive character to pull together and come back and equalise.
“Both teams had chances to knick the game and now we’re fully focused and looking ahead to the game.
Toland on Sunday’s fixture against Southampton…
“I think it’s really important that we start getting three points on the board.
“We’ve trained hard this week and we’re ready to go this Sunday and hopefully we can get those three points.
“Southampton have picked up some good results and points, but we’ll be ready.”
Toland on the Blue Army…
“It’s a long trip, but we will definitely hear the fans.
“It drives us forward and we love having the fans with us – we’ll be glad to see them.”
