Durham Women are proud to announce a new commercial partnership with Specsavers – aimed at highlighting the importance of good vision for athletic performance and wider wellbeing.
The Blues have teamed-up with the Durham branches of the opticians and audiologists for the remainder of the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League 2 season to help champion eye health in sport.
As well as the commercial agreement, players and staff from Durham Women will receive eye care at the Specsavers Durham stores – located at the Arnison Centre and on North Road – ensuring their vision is in top condition for competition.
The partnership will also see Specsavers engage directly with supporters through matchday activations and exclusive offers for fans throughout the 2025/26 season.
Vision plays a vital role in every aspect of the game – from reaction times and spatial awareness to accuracy and teamwork.
Through this partnership, Durham Women FC and Specsavers will work together to raise awareness about the role of eye health in sport and everyday life.
Commenting on the partnership, Specsavers Durham ophthalmic director, Gavin Donnelly, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Durham Women for the remainder of their season and hope we can help them keep their eye on the ball in the WSL 2.
“This partnership isn’t just about elite-level sport, it’s also about raising awareness of the importance of looking after your eye health and making sure you get routine eye tests to keep on top of any issues.”
