Durham held London City Lionesses to a 1-1 draw at Hayes Lane

Hannah Blake’s first-time strike gave Durham the lead after 18 minutes.

Izzy Goodwin equalized in the second half for London City but neither team could find a winner.

Mollie Lambert came close to scoring after two minutes, but Emily Orman was on hand to prevent the goal.

Durham took the lead in the 18th minute as Beth Hepple’s tackle fell perfectly to Blake to strike it on the edge of the box into the bottom corner.

Saki Kumagi cut out a crucial pass to deny a second for Durham just before half-time.

Kosovare Asllani’s curling effort on 54 minutes came close to giving London City an equalizer but her shot was the wrong end of the post.

London City did get the goal two minutes later through Izzy Goodwin’s header for her 14th goal of the Women’s Championship season.

Rylee Foster’s superb save denied Chaney Boye-Hlorkah’s header in the 74th minute to keep the score level.

Goodwin came close to a winner in the third minute of added time but her effort was just too high.

Neither team could produce a winner and Durham return from the capital with a point.
