Durham Women’s under-14 side recently finished runners-up in the JPL’s Peer-To-Peer Tournament at Warwick University.
19 other Professional Game Academy sides including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City all assembled for the event.
Durham U14s beat Manchester United 1-0 in their opening game of the day before going on to claim victories over both Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
A draw with Crystal Palace saw Durham end the group stage top from all the teams in attendance, subsequently earning the Blues a spot in the semi-final.
There, Durham beat Sheffield United to tee-up a final against a strong Brighton & Hove Albion side – with the Seagulls narrow victors.
It was a fantastic showing from the Durham side – who will now look to finish the campaign strongly.
