We sat down with Abbi Grant to discuss her move to Durham shortly after she put pen to paper.
Here’s what our first summer signing had to say:
Grant on the move…
“I’m delighted to be here.
“I’m excited for pre-season already and I can’t wait to meet all the girls.
“It’s been a crazy few days with a lot of travelling but I was keen to get down and get the deal done as quickly as possible.”
Grant on choosing Durham…
“Durham has been a massive club and I’ve always admired them – so to now say I’m a player here is pretty crazy and it’s a great feeling.
“Playing in the Championship has been an ambition of mine and I felt like after the conversations this was the right place to get the best out of me and the environment to play my best football.”
Grant on what type of player the fans can expect to see…
“I’m a technical player. I like to dribble, take players on and get crosses in the box.
“I like to score goals and get assists as much as possible.
“I work hard and do my best for the team.”
Grant on bringing her experiences from across Europe to Durham…
“I’ve got a lot of experience and it’s something I hope I can bring a lot of on the pitch and also off the pitch.
“I hope that it can all come together and I can show what I’ve done and my experience can show.”
Grant on targets for the 2024/25 season…
“You always want to aim for promotion and I don’t think we should look at anything less.
“We’ll all work hard and have the same aim to achieve that.
“Personally I want to score a lot of goals, get a lot of assists and help the team in any way I can.
“I want to play my best football and I think this is place I can do that – so I’m excited to show everyone what I can do.”
Grant on playing in front of the Blue Army…
“I’ve heard they’re very passionate and come out in numbers.
“I’m really excited to meet them all and show everyone what I’m about.”
