Durham Women midfielder Beth Hepple has been named as the FA Women’s Championship’s Player of the Month for October.

Hepple – who made her 150th appearance for the club during the month – has enjoyed a fine start to the season.

And having been nominated for the award in September, the Durham star has now scooped the top prize after a month which saw her score six goals in four games in all competitions.

The month began with a 2-2 draw at Leicester City in which the midfielder swept home a superb free-kick, before two more goals from dead ball situations helped us to a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Hepple then netted a hat-trick against Coventry United in the Continental Tyres Cup before playing a key role in our 2-1 win at London Bees at the end of the month.

Her performances earned us a substantial number of votes from the expert panel of judges which – when combined with the poll published on the Championship’s Twitter page – saw her crowned as the winner.

Well done, Beth!
