Durham Women FC are delighted to be working with Cooper Durham BMW and Cooper Durham MINI in a ground-breaking partnership.
Based on Belmont Industrial Estate, just strides from our home ground of New Ferens Park, Cooper are your local authorised local BMW and MINI retailer, with exclusive offers on New and Approved Used vehicles and for all your servicing and parts requirements.
Cooper have now stepped-in to help FA Women’s Championship side Durham Women on the road – by providing two vehicles for the club to use for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
The club have been handed the keys to a BMW XI and a MINI Countryman, which will assist staff throughout the ever busy season in The FA Women’s Championship and beyond.
Plus, the Cooper Durham logos will feature on our social media match graphics, while the club cars will be a visible presence at our home ground of New Ferens Park, our training base at Durham University Sports & Wellbeing Park, and across the country when staff attend national meetings and events as well as games.
Speaking about the partnership, Richard Skinner, Head of Business at Cooper Durham said: “It’s exciting to be involved with the club.
“We are Cooper Durham, we’re not just BMW or MINI, it’s all about Durham. We want Cooper to be very much part of Durham and in the city you’ve got the famous schools, the cathedral and now the very famous football team.
“Women’s football – that was the difference.
“Supporting a local team who are doing so well and are so progressive in the league, it’s really exciting for us.
“When I met Lee, he told us his vision of where the club want to go and how close they are to taking the next step, and it’s exciting.
And Durham Women manager Lee Sanders added: “To have the association with two such global and iconic brands as MINI and BMW through this partnership with Cooper Durham is a huge step forward for the club.
“It also probably highlights the impact that other larger brands are having on the women’s game overall, if you look at the league and the investments now being made from Barclays and Boots, for example.
“Richard really took an interest and had a real knowledge of women’s football – he has a daughter who has a huge interest and involvement with sport and is also a keen cyclist himself.
“Part of the club’s commercial strategy is to partner with brands that really want to get involved with club through mutual marketing campaigns, benefits to players and staff and fan engagement, and if the business is local to the North East of England that’s even better.
“This partnership with Cooper Durham will take away the necessity for key staff to use their own or unsuitable vehicles for travel to meetings, league events and for medical equipment transport, and they now have vehicles that are fit for purpose to make those journeys in comfort, style and with the size required for necessary equipment storage.
“We are really excited and looking forward to making the partnership a success and hopefully developing it together for the future.”
