Molly Sharpe praised a fine collective performance after Durham Women became the first side to beat Aston Villa this term.
Watch her full thoughts on the game below:
On the win over Aston Villa…
“I’m absolutely over the moon.
“Coming into the game, we thought it was going to be a really hard challenge and obviously it was.
“But we brought it out today, we played so well together and it was great to be involved in.”
On the high press…
“It’s tiring!
“But it’s just so rewarding, especially when the defenders get so under pressure and we can just win the ball back.
“It’s good.”
On her two goals…
“I think I prefer the first!
“The ball from Nicki was unreal – she knew exactly where I was going to be and it just rolled off my little toe!”
On squad strength…
“Obviously Salicki was injured today so we didn’t have our full strength squad out.
“But it shows how much further we can go, especially against a quality team like Aston Villa.”
